Adventures in gardening!

Image
I'm surprised with how well my first garden is growing!  Matt is going to build another bed for me next year.  :)  I'm hoping to plant some lettuce in time for fall, too.   My first loaf of zucchini bread!  Yum! My little helper  :) We found this monster zucchini (16 inches!) when we got back from Virginia.  Unfortunately, it was the last one before my zucchini plants called it quits.   My first red pepper and lots of tomatoes after our vacation My first cantaloupe!!! Making spaghetti sauce with all of my tomatoes!

Blast off!

First, a trip down memory lane.  Here's a video of our blast off game from over a year ago (March 2013)...   And now here's a video from just a few days ago (September 1, 2014)

August 2014

We were pretty busy in August.  We were in Bethany Beach August 8th - 11th, then drove down to Virginia for the rest of the week.  The following weekend, we went to Maryland for a surprise party to celebrate Matt's parents' 40th wedding anniversary, his mom's birthday, and his mom's retirement! The digital age... Ryan's signature look   Ryan did NOT want to touch the sand! Story time with Pop Pop! Not a lot of pictures from our VA trip...  I wonder where Sammy gets her goofy gene from... Having fun with cousin Ty! - Maryland -  We needed an excuse to get Matt's mom out of the house before the surprise party, so the girls went to get pedicures.  Sammy got her very first pedicure and she loved it!  She chose a sparkly pink/purple color.  This is what kept Ryan occupied for the entire party...  We might have a future baseball player on our hands.  :)...

July 2014

Not a lot going on in July...  We had a fun 4th of July holiday at the annual Dixon party and watched the Glenside parade (Ryan LOVED it!).  We also spent a weekend in Bethany Beach. Heading to the parade Ryan clapped for everything! - Bethany Beach -  Cheeeeese! Sammy found a frog in the back yard -  Feeding our neighbor's chickens...   Hopefully by this time next year, we'll have our own chickens!
